This is the first Saturday I've been able to sleep in like FOREVER! So I got up at 7:30 (which is sleeping in for me) and slid out of bed. Our bed is very tall so it's a leap off the top down to the floor. Roy slid out as well and then planted himself on the couch. I threw on my running clothes, planning a Starbucks run, but Roy had other ideas. He had ice on his knee and the TV on. So apparently it was all me. *sniff* I was going to have to run by my lonesome. Oh well! Ate a Kudos bar for some fast energy and out the door. The thing I love about early morning runs when I have no plans, is that I can go as long or short as I want. If Roy isn't there, I can go as long as I want. He does not like to "meander". He wants to know, to the inch, how far we're running. Where is the man's sense of adventure! So I took off running trying to decide if I should do my long run today or tomorrow. I have seven miles planned, since the Christmas Marathon is just two weeks from tomorrow. My back was bothering me some, stoopid back, so I wiggled my butt as I ran. Yeah, it may look funny (or freaking, depending on your POV) but it works. Ran out past Starbucks into the neighborhood where my boyfriend before Roy used to live. Jerk. Some day I should get over it. Maybe in 25 MORE years. Ran out until I hit 4 miles, ran back to Starbucks. Now this is the most important part of my training...the refueling. Did I intentionally leave the house without water or Gu this morning? Was it my passive aggressive way of ensuring I'd either run short, or stop at the Bux? Went in and enjoyed coffee, an eggnog scone, and the paper for about 30 minutes. Let my back settle in, as well. Ran home three more miles. Life is good. It's snowing right now, so we're going to probably do a snow run or walk (probably walk) later today. No more than a mile, I'm sure. Activity

This blog is to highlight all that is running in my life. Oh, and maybe a little swimming, cycling, the odd kayak trip, hiking, trail running, skiing if I take that up and just about everything physical (except that...get your mind out of the gutter).
